Jennifer Post was quoted in the Daily Journal in the article “Crowdfunding” Leads to New Legal Questions. The article appeared on the front page of the Daily Journal on February 21, 2013. Jennifer was quoted on the topic of legal risks to investors and companies in the emerging Crowdfunding industry.

Jennifer Post spoke at the Beverly Hills Bar Association on: Crowdfunding and Private Capital Raising: New Landscape or New Landmines? on February 7, 2013. Jennifer’s presentation included a discussion of the new crowdfunding provisions of the JOBS Act and how the JOBS Act will change the landscape for private capital raising for emerging companies and their investors.

Jennifer Post was a panelist at the Next Generation Entrepreneurship and Crowdfunding Forum on November 16th in Santa Monica. The Forum was sponsored by Metropole Capital Group. She participated on the panel “Everything you wanted to know about the JOBS Act (but were afraid to ask)”. The panel covered global crowdfunding initiatives as well as developments under the JOBS Act.

Jennifer Post Chaired the Beverly Hills Bar Association Seminar: “M&A Fundamentals – What Every Business Lawyer Needs to Know” on October 4, 2012.  The seminar included such topics as identifying the parties to an M&A transaction, how to best structure the deal from a business and tax perspective and how to document the deal and run a successful closing. Jennifer is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Business Law Section Committee.

Jennifer Post gave a presentation to members of Angeles Capital Group LLC on the topic Crowdfunding and Private Capital Raising under the JOBS Act on August 14, 2012. The presentation included discussion of the proposed regulations for “Funding Portals” under the JOBS Act and related federal and state securities compliance. Jennifer Post spoke on the Beverly Hills Bar Association panel: Technology Start Up Companies: Counseling the Entrepreneur, Structuring the Entity, Securities Issues and Protecting Your Client’s Ideas on June 7, 2012. Jennifer’s presentation included a discussion of the new private offering rules under the JOBS Act and how those rules will change the landscape for capital raising for emerging companies.

Jennifer Post Chaired the Beverly Hills Bar Association Seminar ” Overview of the Business Bankruptcy: What Every Practitioner Should Know” on March 15, 2012. Jennifer is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Business Law Section Committee.

Jennifer Post spoke at the California Small Business Development Center at the CSULA Engineering, Computer Science and Technology College on February 8, 2012. Ms. Post discussed capital raising challenges facing technology startup companies and discussed recent “crowdfunding” initiatives both at the SEC and pending before the U.S. Congress. The presentation was attended by faculty, students and entrepreneurs at the SBDC and the Engineering College.

Jennifer Post was a guest on the Asian Business Hour, a web-based radio show, on November 16, 2011. She participated as one of the panel of experts discussing current SEC initiatives related to Chinese companies accessing the U.S. Capital markets through alterative public offerings.

Jennifer Post participated and spoke on the panel “Start-up Legal Challenges & Minefields to Avoid” as part of the 10th Annual Los Angeles County Technology Week held in Altadena, California on October 20, 2011.

Jennifer Post gave the presentation “Raising Money for Your Business: Debt, Equity and What’s It All About Anyway?” to the Los Angeles II Chapter of the Women Presidents Organization on July 7, 2011. The presentation covered self-funding methods as well as obtaining commercial loans and private equity as sources for capital and expansion.

Jennifer Post participated and spoke on the panel “Protecting Your Deal by Being Proactive and Structuring Solid Contracts” at DealFlow Media’s 2011 Reverse Merger Conference in Los Angeles, California on June 13-14, 2011. The panel discussed the necessary elements of transaction agreements and the importance of being proactive in the legal documentation process.

Jennifer Post participated and spoke on the panel “Top Issues in International M&A Transactions” as part of The State Bar of California 84th Annual Meeting to be held in Long Beach, California on September 15-18, 2011.

Jennifer Post presented on the topic “Accounting and SEC Reporting Fraud in Chinese Reverse Mergers: Looking Back and Looking Forward” to the Global Transactions Group of Los Angeles Provisors on September 13, 2011, in Los Angeles, California.
